Plug-in sightings

yeah i saw two different clearwater blue PIPs on 880N today around 6:30PM between highway 84 and 92. brand new, paper plates still. so the numbers are growing.

 

I heard that CA's already had 2200 PHEVs registered.

 

I was going by Erica's number from earlier this month. She had said there were 2100 preorders.

We're probably now seeing the first of the post-pre orders (if there is such a thing). I imagine the assembly line did not come to a screeching halt with the last pre-order.

 

Well, I have a clearwater blue, and I work down in that area, but you'll usually find me around Lafyette & Montague Expwy.

 

I'm on the lookout! Haven't seen you yet! I feel like a lone pioneer here sometimes.

 

Haven't seen a single one here on the Central Coast of CA.

Nor does anyone else seem to recognize that ours is anything other than a straight Gen III Prius....

 

My 1st Sighting at Arques / Lawrence Expressway in Sunnyvale, CA. Stopped at a light, the other driver notice me first and we exchanged thumbs ups.
A couple of thousand cars in my work's parking lot, I still seem to be the only 2012 PiP. I ran into 1 DIY plug in Prius.

Saw a clearwater blue at 405-S around Rossmoor area.

 

I was at Lowe's off of Cottle on Saturday around noon when I stumbled upon a Clearwater Blue PiP.

If you look closely, you can see my Blizzard Pearl in the back left. I guess I'm not as trusting of the Lowe's shoppers as the CB's owner....

 

My office is a few hundred yards from that intersection. My PiP is Pearl, with dealer plates from Carson Toyota (naturally). Give me a wave sometime!

I spotted a silver PiP on the 85 north around 0715 this morning. No stickers on it, but they had a passenger. Who would have thought - driving in the HOV lane with 2 people in a PiP....mind=blown

 

Saw a Blizzard Pearl with dealer (hard) plates near Red Hill and Irvine Blvd. I was behind him/her.

Do the dealer TRAC (Toyota Rent-A-Car) PiPs have dealer hard plates on them? I wouldnt think they would.

 

I finally spotted a PiP in the wild but it was just serenely snoozing in a parking lot. Perhaps it was resting up after a morning run chasing VW Rabbits on the freeway.

 

I saw 2 Clearwater Blue's on 101N in Mountain View on the way home tonight around 6pm.

 

I spotted a Clearwater Blue PiP parked in front of The Grinder (a popular sandwich shop) in Long Beach yesterday.

 

Saw a winter gray with a bright yellow dealer plate going 5-S near Mission Viejo area.
