Plug without a home

    Hey guys I was doing my hundred thousand mile check up you know the brake lines and CV boots and all that stuff and I noticed this plug hanging down can't see where it is from the Top If anyone recognizes it please let me know.     Okay guys a little yellow thing right in the middle of the picture should be able to blow it up and see it it is on the passenger side right under the Master brake cylinder

    I don't know where it goes, but from the looks of the harness, it shouldn't be very far from where it's at now. Maybe someone here who's had it apart before will come along.

    Does not appear to be anything from underneath to plug it into. The view from the top is crowded with no obvious place to plug it, into hence my quest for HELP !

    And I was also thinking I had to remove the splash guards ( first time) and I could I have done it then, but I would think I'd be able to see where it plugs into if that was the case. Anybody else had issues while removing the splash guards?

    What trim level Prius do you have?

    Any lights on the dash indicating a problem?

    Could it be some accessory that your Prius might not have?

    Very possible so I've got voice navigation and Bluetooth for the phone no dash lights except maintenance which I assumed was because I don't change my oil till 5000. Does the oil maintenance reminder Remind You at 3000 or 5000 ?

    I’m not familiar enough with older Prius cars to recognize the object in your photo, but if it’s an electrical connector that was part of the car when it was built, it should be shown in Toyota’s Electrical Wiring Diagram book for the 2004 Prius, EWD555U.

    This is available by subscription to techinfo.toyota.com, and also (in somewhat abridged form) from the ChiltonLibrary service, to which your local public library sponsors free access for its patrons.

    The Electrical Wiring Routing section of the EWD shows the approximate location of each connector, and the Connector List section shows their shapes and the number of terminals. If individual wires and their colors are visible, you can also use the System Circuit or Overall EWD sections to confirm the identification.
    From the Repair Manual:
    • 4,500 miles after ODO/TRIP switch is set, the maintenance indicator begins to blink for 15 seconds after the power switch is turned ON (ACC or IG).
    • 5,000 miles after ODO/TRIP switch is set, the maintenance indicator comes on.
