Okay, I might have missed this somehow, but can one either purchase the Plus components and install them, or have the dealer retrofit my 2010 IV, or can you only get this on a new Prius from the factory?

BTW, the local Toyota dealer has 4 Prius in stock after being out for awhile.

It's only available on new Prius, no retrofitting as a package. But I'm sure you can purchase the individual pieces at an extremely steep price.

Bummer. I have been looking around for the parts online, and can't seem to find them anywhere. Do you know of a source for these parts, steeply priced or otherwise?

You'll have to call the dealer as it just came out. When my car was rear-ended two years ago, the body shop had to call a local dealer as it was so new.

The factory 17" is $500 a pop, so I wouldn't be surprised if the pieces are likewise priced.

The option for the entire package is $3K. If the pieces are more than that without installation, that is a deal killer. Hmmm, maybe a new 2012 is in order... or not. Dang.

Well, of course, even the factory 17" on the Five is $500 a pop.

Why not just get the Five Axis kit and make your Prius stand out?

Good point. Very nice kit. I had heard that the Plus kit was optimized for better fuel economy. Is that the case with this kit?

I'm sure it will be more than $3K.

Keep in mind the factory option takes into account the incremental price of the package (vs. standard parts), whereas when buying the parts for the kit, you're not getting credit for the parts they replace.

For exisiting Prius, we will not be able to order the parts until 2012....
