My vote went to the 0 to 5 as I'm only 2.1 miles away from work, all country road, but my wife may end up with it since she goes 12.3 miles to work.

OK, then I'll add my bit. Thanks for the clarification.

I checked off the '0-5' category, but it's closer to zero.

I dislike commuting so much that I've more or less arranged my life around avoiding it. So, my work comes to me and I sit comfortably in my own little office. A few times a month, I'll walk for about fifteen minutes to work in a client's office when it's necessary. My only complaint is that I can't turn up the stereo as loud as I want without hearing from my wife, who also works from home.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure I've ever commuted by car for any length of time. I used rapid transit for a couple of years for regular commuting, but it still seemed like a waste of time. I used my motorcycle for Summer jobs in University, and I rode my bicycle to classes. For many years I've walked almost everywhere to run errands, do the shopping, and visit with friends.

So for us, I think an EV would be fine most of the time. If it weren't for getting groceries and driving the kids to their events, we wouldn't need a car at all. There was a time I did even the grocery shopping by bicycle, but now I regularly visit the produce store with a big backpack.

Pulled a bonehead move and voted for daily commute distance (41-45) instead of one way. If a mod wants to change that, that would be great. Thanks.

Typical route is 18 miles. Depending on traffic congestion, other choices are 16 to 21 miles. The longest is the fastest in ideal conditions, but also the mostly likely to have awful congestion.

Currently visiting the office only a few times per month. Previously, drove an average of four times per week, and pedaled once (year round average, weather dependent).

It's a 92 mile roundtrip for me. Add a few more miles if I decide to go to lunch or run errands...

35 miles each way in very congested traffic. Sat radio makes it enjoyable.

    Bump.

Like to have 200 samples before poll closes.
So far the distribution matches the American survey.

30 miles exactly, one way. I also have about an 900 ft drop in altitude (to sea level) between home and work. It's downhill on the way to work, uphill on the way home. I have two very different routes that are surprisingly within 0.5 miles of each other.

16.7 miles total with 9 miles at 70 mph each way.

1 mile of EV remained when I got there and parked today.

175 MPG was the commute there result.
