So you still think of one person 30 years ago when thinking about all gay people today? Maybe it's time for an update. I'm wondering if he was really distracted by sex or distracted by trying to explain himself at a time when being an open homesexual was still a fairly new concept. Not that I know the guy's behavior beyond what you said, but there may be more than one explanation, and it certainly doesn't apply to everybody out there. There's some pretty offensive dirty old men who are straight, and I'm sure you've met them too.

That's fine. Nobody's forcing you to answer the thread. Some newbies get confused by Priuschat when they see the FHOP threads (like in the "view new posts" option), but I think it's one of the things that really makes it a community. You get to know some of the people beyond the fact that they own (or are interested in) a Prius. Many other forums don't allow any posting off topic, which is limiting. I already know Bob Wilson as a strong technical guy (and definitely not a newbie) and if you want to share more, there's nothing wrong with that. But again, just pass by the thread if not interested.

You seem to have a pretty good understanding of life, and part of that may have come from some introspection and soul-searching which you may not have done otherwise. That's something everybody should do from time to time, but with video games and busy schedules and text messages, seems like we don't have time for that anymore. Anyway, I'm glad you're here and contributing to PriusChat.

Excellent. No matter straight or gay, a person should know how to look after themselves.

I personally have never struck a gay person. The ones I have worked with over my career have all proven to be exceptional engineers and scientists, very dedicated and competent in their field

Now, I have beat the living dog s*** out of plenty of straights. Not sure what that says about me

I have never seen this happen before, but maybe I just didn't notice. Before voting, I hit the "vote results" line and the box popped open with the results for each choice, but in the left column, it displayed the forum name of each member according to their selection. Then I voted and the same box opened with just the results - no members. Once i voted the "vote results" line disappeared. I have never seen member information displayed in the poll results before.

Maybe I just didn't notice this before, but I was under the impression the polls were anonymous.

 

I don't know how much to worry about it, but I do remember Bill Maher calling the Prius a "gay skateboard."

 

Some are, some aren't. It's up to the person creating the poll, and it is clearly stated on the poll before you vote.
