Sorry to hear you won’t be able to make it:(.

    There’s always next time though;).

For the front shocks, it helps to have a spring compressor, and @The Critic had the goods:).

We had both front assemblies done in under 2 hours, but that included time spent admiring his setup;).

Windshield wiper cowling comes off and elevate the Prius holding a stand or support for the wheel bearing hub assembly that will be free moving once the strut tower is removed.

Swap the insulators at the base of the spring and put some new boots on and reinstall :).

Always good to have another set of hands and a fantastic work area to make the job easy(y).

We always welcome those who want to chat;).

No special handshake required, just treat @Pedal Logic ’s place with respect as it is a convenient midpoint in Lafayette :).

We need to stay on Mrs. Pedal Logic’s good side;).

Pencil you in for social aspects on the 25th then:whistle:?

    Hope to see you there(y).

Key works wonderfully! Thanks again for helping with that!

I'm about to hit 60k miles. I was thinking about an oil change for sure. Not sure if I should do a transmission fluid change or not. Is it too early to do an EGR cleaning/intake manifold/oil catch can?

We could sign you up for the oil catch can, oil changed and trans fluid drain and fill;).

IMO it’s a bit early on the egr cooler swap, but we can pull the egr pipe and see what we are dealing with:).

    See you on the 25th(y).

I am at 61k miles now, couple months ago right before I hit the 60K mark I had done transmission fluid at the last meet up at Memorial Day weekend, with help from Ray and @grid , and installed oil catch can at another meet up last November.;)

Ray, do you still have the image of 130k vs 60k ATF? Definitely get the ATF done while you are doing oil change.(y)

Looks like I'll be doing the transmission fluid too. I'll get everything ordered. Anything special I should order for the oil catch can? Like clamps or hoses?

I’d buy some fuel hose at oreillys or the like.

I mounted mine low so I only needed 2 feet, but if you side mount by the inverter, you’ll need more.

    See you on the 25th(y).

    Hey,

I'm near 100K miles and I'm thinking of driving up as I'd rather spend the money and learn something rather than give it to the dealership. I'm thinking I'd like to clean the throttlebody, EGR, replace spark plugs, and clean intake manifold. Is that too much? With the EGR, I'm considering buying a new cooler and doing a swap, but I'm wondering if the valve and pipe are easier to clean on the spot or will I need to procure a donor for those as well? Also - same question with manifold. Just want to make sure I am prepared and have everything I need.

    Thanks

That'll be one helluva drive. You'll want the engine to cool down first to do the above so set your alarm early.

I'm about 50 miles away from 100K myself and have the same to do list as yours. Saving it for colder weather though, hope all goes well at the meet up. I won't make it to this one.
