And also a target date of sorts

Prius Prime models will arrive toward the end of the year, with first deliveries targeted for November

    I would hope so.
That leaves room for it to be priced around the same as the C-max Energi though.

That would be awesome. If it's priced the same as C-Max Energi including Ford manufacturing incentives, it would be almost too good to be true after net all incentives including government, priced less than the lowest trim lift back.

Consider in my area Theoretical Prime Pricing = $31,770 (C-Max Energi MSRP) - $5.5k (Energi manufacturer cash back*) - $4.5k fed credit - $1.5k California rebate = $20,270

Doubt Toyota will throw out any manufacturing incentives for at least a few months until initial pent-up demand eases and production ramps up.

Volt LT is $33,220? (there are some equipment differences like standard TSS-P on Prime vs. not available on Volt LT).

If Prime is priced at $29,000-$30,000, that's already a good discount off the Volt. However, Toyota has to be aware of optics. Recall the fuss about the PiP Advanced vs. base Volt. Most people that were on that discussion boat ignored the fact that the PiPA had a ton more equipment than the base Volt. They would rather take the longer EV range. Toyota has to keep that in mind when pricing against the Volt 2.0.

I was talking straight MSRP in regards to the C-max pricing for the base Prime. $2k to $3k is significantly less than the Volt, but still a grand or so higher than the PiP. The slightly larger pack in it means slightly better price, after incentives, than the C-max, but around the same price as the Volt.

I would not bet on manufacturer incentives as nice has Ford and GM are offering from Toyota. Part of the drive for such is for CAFE targets. Moving their plug ins helps in balancing the increased truck and SUV sales because of the low gas prices. Toyota simply doesn't sell as many large trucks and SUVs. So the Prius and Rav4 hybrid sales are likely enough with the extra credits they have banked.

Oh, you said "including manufacturer incentive" so I assumed you meant $31.7k-$5.5k = $26.2k.

Given the extra equipment, my guess is that they'll price it the same as the PiP and just market all the extra stuff you get with it like 2x the battery range and TSS-P.

iplug included the manufacturer incentives. My original post on the subject just said priced around the C-max Energi.

I don't expect the price to be lower than the PiP; which would be nice with the larger federal incentive for the battery. I'm hoping Toyota doesn't price it closer to the C-max Energi with the larger battery as justification for doing so.

Count me in with the same vote.

Think they will throw in manufacturer incentives as soon as 1-2 quarters after it rolls out depending on sales and gas prices, but agree with Trollbait that we are unlikely to see such hefty manufacturing rebates like the Ford Energis.

No. Toyota typically doesn't offer large incentives (esp. in Canada... it's probably more generous in the U.S.).

another thing they have to be careful of is offering the base model with a mickey mouse screen, (no offense to mickey) and then gouging people on the super deluxe model, which many will think comes in the base until they get the bad news.

Well if it is the Prius "Prime" then we should expect the base model to have at least the biggest MFD they sell for the Gen 4 Prius LB.

There are 3 models a Prime 3, Prime 4 and a Prime 4 advanced. The Prime 3 has cloth interior. The only other difference that I could see between the Prime 4 and Prime 4 adv was something called Seg 1 special spec.

    Launch edition?

    Are you a dealer?

That's not new. Happens all the time in the industry.

The NYIAS actually had two versions of the Prime. The blue one is obviously the top model. The silver one on the rotating the display is the base model with cloth and without foglights. They didn't let too many people climb up there but there were exceptions.. Too bad none of them took pics of the interior but like @drash says, I expect it to be the 7" MFD rather than the 6.1".
