    Among friends, I think we can say the US, Canada, and South Korea test cycles are the same. Differences likely come down to rounding after converting units. There might be differences in the rules around the test cycles. The new EPA ones for 2016 were reported here. Have they been adopted by Canada and S. Korea? It was a few years after the US that Canada adopted the 5 cycles.

    The highlights of Japan's JC08; Duration: 1204 s, Total distance: 8.171 km, Average speed: 24.4 km/h (34.8 km/h excluding idle), Maximum speed: 81.6 km/h, and Load ratio: 29.7%.

    Yes, Canada adopted the 5-cycle in 2014. The numbers are pretty much identical to the EPA's.

    The 15% increase in price in the Netherlands, btw, include a lot of kit, some of which aren't available on the regular Prius. It comes with HUD, TSS-P and Matrix LED headlights (this is Prime-specific. No, we will not get it in the US thanks to DOT's antiquated requirements).

    That probably means $29,990 :p.

    I will be very surprised if it's closer to $25,000 because you need a separation between the Prius and Prius Prime (not to mention, Toyota needs to make a profit!). $25,000 is probably after the tax credit. I'm still sticking to my estimate of around $30,000 (basically, no change from PiP) or at worse maybe $32,000. They'll have to price it carefully because of the Bolt's announcement of 238 miles AER and at most $37,500 MSRP (could be less... who knows, but even at $37,500, it'll be competitive with Prime after the fed tax credit)

    there is already a separation between prius and prius prime. prius has 5 seats and larger hatch area, prime should be cheaper.

    i can ignore the one under the floor, it's the one above the floor that's impossible to ignore.
    and btw? that battery is only giant compared to pip.
    if prime starts at 35k? they'll be rusting in the dealership lots.

    Purely a WAG, but the Prius 3 and Prius 4 are $2,400 apart, and from reading the posts here it looks like we'll be getting a Prime 3, Prime 4 and Prime 4 Touring as well as from some Pre-Order example that included the 11" on the Prime 4. So the Prius Prime 4 will probably be around $32,500 or the same as the base PiP in 2012/2013.

    $32K minus feds and CA tax credit makes a $26 price tag. Not bad. A 2017 basic Volt after tax credit cost about the same. Still a good bargain for prius buyers.
