I was in my friend's Gen. 4 Prius in Manchester, England recently. He has a button that can fold his side mirrors for parking in tight spaces. The mirrors also fold automatically when the car is shut off.
I wish we had that feature in the US.

It’s a great feature. The main thing I use it for it confirm that the car is locked.

Ditto but power folding mirrors are rare on non-luxury vehicles in the US. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the Corolla iM.

I guess TMNA figures that most of the US has large parking spaces so we don't need it. At least we have foldable mirrors - at one point, most of the Toyota sedans didn't come with folding mirrors (just the larger SUVs)

That's odd - they're on all models here in Australia (with indicators/trafficators). They're great to glance back to confirm that you've locked the car.

But there are things here which you can't get on PRIUS - like Auto Parking, not available on even the top model.

After my Saab, which had foldable mirrors, I had an eminently forgettable Accord that had foldable mirrors. I got rid of the Accord in Denver when I bought a Camry V6 LE, which was far superior. It was the first car I'd owned that didn't have foldable mirrors.

It certainly is a good indicator when you look back from a distance and wonder, did I lock it - oh, yes?

I use them all the time when I put the car in and out of the garage.

There was a kit of electronics from Japan for the Gen 3, maybe there's one for the gen 4 ?
