Just hard wired my 2012 Prius Gen 3 with auto dimming rearview mirror for my new dashcam.
There are two small plastic covers that are easily removed that go from overhead console to the mirror mounting point on windshield. Once removed you'll the connector and wire trough for the wires. The connector is easily removed and shows three wires. Tan - switched 12 volt; white/black - ground; and red-always on 12 volts. I used two small T splices for connecting into the Tan and white/black wires. I marked my ground connectors with a black magic marker to make sure I had ground easily identified. The pictures show the complete mod.
