    Well I went and did my weekly scouring of the countryside for charging stations.
    This time I was in Mission Viejo, one of Southern California's more affluent areas.
    My son's soccer team plays at various parks in the area, which is about 29 miles from my house. So I played the roll of desperate BEV looking for a charging station. Good luck, sucker!! The place is a ChargePoint Desert! There are NO stations at ANY of these more than 8 parks; what a waste!! These are young, affluent people, many of whom drive EV enhanced cars!!
    Perfect places to charge: at a 2+ hour soccer game.
    So I filed a recommendation with ChargePoint: hit the parks, sales department!
    I stand by my opinion, no BEV for me (with my crazy driving schedule, and the slowness of charging) for the foreseeable future.
    P.S. Our Walgreens stores out here seem to be a reliable source of ChargePoint stations. That's where I ended up charging, a 10 mile round trip through the hills! Yeah stupid, but it was an experiment, after all.

    That is why you have an "EV Enhanced" car. :D
    Chargepoint have complaint departments, but PriusChat is not one of them.;)

    Not complaining; just stating facts. I filed a recommendation to do something about it. The experience justifies the purchase of my Prime.

    Ah, but he's such a good writer that I enjoy his vents. When you get to be our age we have two kinds of venting and one of them doesn't smell so good. LOL!!

    BTW, I noticed a charging station at the hospital we went to Friday afternoon to visit a friend. But it was in the patient parking area, which is gated. Hmmmm. Oddly enough, it was not in use.

    Yes, again.:LOL:

    I went looking for potential charging stations in my area and If I had a Prime I would be out of luck.
    Do they sell extension cord by the mile?

    I also complained to ChargePoint about lack of stations at any usable place in Houston (unless you are employed there.) They gave me a $15 credit. Can't use the $100 nor the $15.

    So I drove to Nashville, 120 miles each way. Leaving the house fully charged, I got great MPG even with the altitude gain. But there was no charger within the medical parking area.

    Before heading back, I paid $.65 to put 25% SOC, just under 8 miles, but enough to reach the Interstate. Just parked showing 62 MPG.

    Even a taste of EV more than makes it worthwhile. Warming up an engine in urban traffic ... not good.

    Trip total:
    • HSV-to-Nashville: 115.8 mi @83.2 MPG -> 1.4 gal
    • Nashville-to-HSV: 116.5 mi @67.4 MPG -> 1.7 gal
    • 232.3 mi / 3.1 gallons total -> 74.9 MPG

    Mr. chenderson2,
    Did you try using the ChargePoint app.
    Using it, I was able to find several chargepoint stations in the Houston area, some which were free. I don't know if they are any good to you. It can be a pain in the butt now, until they get more stations, but it's a start!

    So close, and yet so far!! You need to have some landscape specialist stick you a 110V outlet near where you park. They even have lock boxes on some of them!
    The problem is billing, and access to electricity. Does your city have any incentives to support this installation. Lake forest Soccer Park out here has just those setups; city pays for the juice, and they were kind enough to unlock one of the boxes for me!! It's only 110V outlet, so should discourage power hogs like Tesla, Leaf, and Bolt/Volt. Our little "Sippers" won't take much juice! Might be worth a shot. You don't ask; you don't get!

    :p:p:p you're funny @HPrimeAdvanced I already have a 110 VAC out let next to my parking spot (I pay the landlord $15.00/mo for unlimited joules to charge my Prime) I was hoping to connect that bad boy (the 5000 foot cable) to my stoves outlet to get 220 VAC:ROFLMAO:
