Price continues to drop locally. I just paid $3.09 at Sam's Club a couple of hours ago.

Not too shabby! So close to Ca., makes Ca. prices look like the state is intentionally forcing hardships on consumers.

I think in Northeast we are more vulnerable to higher prices due to refineries shutting down in our region.

I am confused about current price of RFG vs. conventional gaso. Trump admin worked to simplify blending rules, which made RFG less expensive for a while, but I am not sure how trends have continued. It is easy to see RBOB (RFG base gaso) price on TV every day, but for some reason CBOB is never quoted so it is hard for public to know prevailing cost increment for RFG. Somehow that is forbidden data, I wish GasBuddy could give us that insight.

We live in fairly expensive gaso area, our COSTCO is $2.99 for RFG. By my house still $3.70 but if I drive a few 3 to 4 miles I can get $2.95 at Exxon/Shell and I usually get big discounts from groceries etc on that.

    $2.66 here.
Another dollar and we'll be back where we were before P46 lost.

And well below the $4.15 I paid here in P43's last year, in the months before the economy crashed.

... which would be $5.62 in today's dollars.

A nearby Safeway dropped $0.50 in a single day yesterday. From a long holding $4.49, to 4.09 as I went out on an errand, to 3.99 on return.

    But Costco is significantly lower.

    Something vaguely paradoxical about that.

Around here, the price of gas has come down a bit to $3.69/gal. But the price of diesel and #2 fuel oil (basically the same product) remain super high. Diesel at pump $6/gal. Heating oil delivered $5/gal.

$2.79 at the cheapest place in the county. 5 cents more most places. Smile when I see diesel and all the vanity trucks filling up.

The national average gas price is now about $0.35/gal lower than when Putin's "special military operation" in Ukraine started.

In my area, the average price is still a bit higher than pre-war, so to balance out, somewhere else must be even better than $0.35 down.

Maybe the drop is because there are more BEVs not buying gas?

We noticed the prices dropped immediately the day that our governor announced a windfall tax on oil companies that were making huge profits. One station here in town dropped from over In our local "top ten cheapest gas" we have a low of 4.49 (regular) and highest "cheap" gas is still 90 cents higher at $5.39. Two months ago the state wide average was $6.39 for regular.

It's getting better. I might even fill up my gas tank this week. :)

I notice the price went down after the mid terms. I filled up at $2.99 today, about 1.50 cheaper than before the elections. I see a pattern here.
