Price of GAS

When I used to be making long road trips on holidays (especially when I was doing that in a less-efficient vehicle) I could swear I saw a pattern where prices would all be enticingly low, say, just before Thanksgiving, to encourage the most people to travel, and then the prices get jacked up that weekend, when everybody was far from home with no choice about needing to get back.

I made a point on those trips to go immediately at my destination to fill up for the trip home, instead of waiting for later in the weekend when I'd start the return trip.

I was on the lookout for that pattern on this recent Thanksgiving trip, but I didn't see it this time, or it wasn't very pronounced, at least where I was going.

$2.89 now here in Chicago. Pumped my last gallon of gas for a car, ever, save for the mower, Jan. 4th, 2022.
