Well, gas in my tank gives me about a 500 mile range. Electrons in a battery are providing from 27-238 miles these days. During a long power outage, a gas car could likely survive a couple days without a fill-up where a BEV would require one or more.

some bev's have over 100 miles more than the 27-238 #'s . I didn't know there was a BEV that only got 27 miles. Is that like the ICE, when it's less than a gallon left? near empty?
Some people nowadays incorporate Tesla's powerwall battery backup with their solar, allowing them to run grid free. That would mean you could still charge in the nutty-hypothetical - extended-outage fiction. In order to do that in a bev you'd have to have a refinery in your backyard. Oops, wait .... those require electricity to run. Maybe you can borrow a long extension cord from your neighbor who has the Tesla powerwall set up, so you can run your refinery.

A BEV or plug-in hybrid owner that has solar panels and a battery backup system could still power their car during an outage, and likely help out some neighbors as well with their fridges and cellphones at least.

Most days I would expect you don’t wake up the range of a full tank.

My EV has a range of 281 every day. The average range your gas tank gives you is more likely about the same.
That said, as already noted by others, some of us can fuel at home, with or without grid sourced electricity.
If there is an extended power outage, gas pumps won’t work.
