    Hello everyone.

I have prius 2010 17" tyre leahter and radar package japanese version.

My steering rack get faulty and I changed it with another one.
In Pakistan we get it as used parts from half cut cars.

After replacing the steering rack i am seeing that now i have to turn my steering more than before to get my car turn.
    For example
First i used to turn half steering to turn into my house street. Now i need to tuen a complete cycle of steering tk turn my car in my house street.

And second thing is that my reverse camera lines do no match to my steering turns.

Lines get finish turning but my steering keep turning....

1- anyone know if there is any kind of setting for steering rack to fix it ?

2- how to reset the back view camera steering sensor. I remember it asked me sometime to turn my steering complete left and then complete right then it measured it.
3- what is the default cycles of steering rack ? 1.5 to right and 1.5 to left ?
Mine is 1.5 to right and 2.25 cycle to left.

    I will appreciate your help

Just a thought: there are two different steering setups on 3rd gen cars, depending on their wheel size, 15" or 17". The 17" cars have a larger turning radius, and tighter steering too, ie less turn of the steering wheel to achieve a given degree of turn.

Maybe you got steering rack from a car with the 15" wheel size?

@Tideland Prius may comment; he has more in-depth knowledge regarding this I think.

If thats the case then surely i have installed 15" one.
Seller was saying that there is only one kind of steering rack.
If yiu are sure there are two different kind of steering racks then i must find for the 17" one.

And if you know how to reset the reverse camera guide lines to the point where it will ask me again to turn my steering max left and then max right ?

To correct the guidelines, you might need to replace the driving assist ECU with the part number for the other wheel size, so it matches the rack; or, perhaps, there are just different firmware versions, and you could have it reflashed. (I know the skid ECU has different firmware versions for 15" and 17", but the driving-assist one I'm not sure about.)

It might still be slightly inaccurate without actually changing the wheels/tires.

My knowledge begins and ends with what I've posted above, but hopefully with @ChapmanF and others, @Tideland Prius perhaps, you will get this resolved. (y)

@Elektroingenieur may know the part number. There were two types of steering racks with different steering ratios (and electric motors for the electric power steering)

    @Tideland Prius
Steering seller is asking for the code which would written on the steering rack to get one for me.
And he said he is hearing it first time in 8 years lol.

The one I installed had EA written on it i guess

In the US parts listing, there's a 45510-47040 and a 45510-47050, but I don't know whether there could be others for the Japanese market. In fact, does traffic in Japan drive on the left? If your car has the steering on the right, the US gear part numbers are almost certainly wrong.

From what I can tell, the -47050 looks to be used for 17" wheels here, though also for 15" wheels in Mexico.

Parts catalogs for Toyota vehicles originally sold in Japan are posted on several sites, including jp-carparts.com. On the page I linked, select the entry matching your car’s model code and production date, and then look under Power Train/Chassis > 04-05 Front Steering Gear & Link. The part numbers for the Steering Gear Assembly appear to be 45510-47060 or 45510-47070. The latter part number goes with 17" wheels.

The image you posted says DAA-ZVW30-AHXGB-L.

In the link @Elektroingenieur posted, there are two entries (the fifth one and the sixth one) for ZVW30-AHXGB, depending on the date the car was built. That date may also be on a label somewhere on the car. Or, if you are sure the car is a 2010, it can only have been built in the first date range shown.

If you are not sure, you could try following both links, click along to Power Train/Chassis > 04-05 Front Steering Gear & Link as @Elektroingenieur described, and see whether the steering gear part numbers in either case are different from the ones @Elektroingenieur has given you.

If the part numbers turn out to be the same, then the production date will be of no importance (at least where this part is concerned).

Is your ultimate objective to find a complete product code, or to have adequate information to select the right steering rack?
