Prius 2012 won’t start only engine light was flashing, but can start again after waiting.

    This is not my car but my dad. He parked the car and went out for just 15 or so minutes. Then when he and I came back the car won’t start and flash the engine light ( this is not the first time it happened ).
    After waiting for a short time the car was able to start again. He never changed the engine nor tuned it. Are there any suggestions or clues we should look up to?

    Your video wont play.

    If you have ever had to ump start the 12 volt battery its probably dead now.

    When the car wont start turn on the headlights. If there not nice and bright the 12 volt battery is dead.
