Reliability - Toyota proves to be #1 on longevity list, & Prius is high, within Toyota's lineup.

Car Models With Longevity -- Who Takes the Top Spot? - Autotrader

That's better advertising than ANY of the Prius ads. As for longevity - it's unlikely anyone on PC is surprised

If I found that landfill I'd buy it.
    It'd basically be a goldmine.

Wow factor regarding hybrids reliability/dependability/owner satisfacion: the Prius model listed is 1st Gen.
I suppose within some years 2nd Gen will come to the list, and we can easily guess top positions...

Fourth gen looks and utility might make me one of those statistics.

One thing about all the hybrid Hyundai hub bub that'll still be missing for years, if at all ... is that it can't match the huge longevity the Prius is earning. It has definitely shown itself to do the long haul ... including traction pack longevity. Makes perfect sense, because most major hybrid markets subscribe to CARB 15 year warranty requirements.

CARB is 10 year or 150k miles. From comments hear, it does sound as there was some slipping in Prius reliability between the gen2 and gen3.
The Hyundai hybrids do have to prove themselves, but the brand has made strides in improving itself overall.

I see no slippage in long-term power-train reliability with the Gen 3 based on statistics on 8848 US Prius trade-ins:

I wouldnt give up my Prius for anything. After my accident though I am absolutely scared out of my wits the end of my Prius will come at the hand of someone else. So many drivers in LA. Many bad ones. Goodness gracious.

Been thinking about that, and yeah, seems to me a big factor in truck longevity would be that they're designed for heavy payloads and towing capacity, workplace conditions, but rarely driven near those capacities, often just commuting.

Nor would I, especially after I totalled my Gen 2. The car took the hit, I walked out virtually unscathed. Considering what could have happened, spending 4 months in a turtle shell back brace was nothing.

2016 Prii didn't come with TSS-P standard, I paid extra (but didn't get the BSM and Parking Assist) for the additional safety features. I'm glad Toyota includes full TSS-P as standard equipment now.

They also, since mid 2017, include BSM and parking assist on most trims.

I remember that being reported, but Toyota's site says it is only on the Four and up for the 2018.

Toyota needs to update their site. That package is listed under packages, and is included in the build feature, but the safety section is only showing BSM for the highest trim.
