I regularly leave my C in the garage for up to three weeks while I'm away, and have never had a problem.

I suggest keeping in mind that the amount of time a car can sit unused and not have trouble starting is in part related to the health/age of the 12v. I actually just recommended to my daughter that she disable the SKS in our Gen2 Prius if the car is going to sit for more than a week. After all, she is really not inclined to find the red line, and repeat trials would just age the 12v that much faster.

  8. Wow, that's reassuring to hear that it'll go 6 weeks dry. Did you first disconnect the 12V battery?

no, but i have never run any of my batteries down or had to have a jump start. that's usually the beginning of problems down the road. and none have been over 4 years old.

I went to Europe for 2 months and when I returned the car was fine. First I made sure both batteries were charged and then disconnected the 12 V.

Absolutely. Too bad the 12v is hard to reach in a Prius

In regards to the Prius C, I have left the keys in the car probably 5 times now and the 12V was drained. Each time I jumpered with a spare fully charged 12V I keep in the garge. The battery on the C is different, apparently no permanent damage. Toyota did something to improve that battery. My problems are caused by habits formed from the PIP and then driving the C.

The position of the Battery in the C is outrageous ! I don't understand the gross errors that their Engineers make From time to time. What's really fun is when the 12v is empty, the trunk is locked and the back doors are locked. If something is needed out of the trunk, ( Jumper cables ) then first climb into back seat, make sure right front seat is all the way forward, remember back doors will not open! Somehow pull vertical back forward to get access to contents of trunk. hope they are on the right side. Get jumpers out and open hood, attach a power source for 12v. See if car starts now. Exercise done for the day, I don't have to go to the Gym ! Nice battery tho, no (apparent permanent damage).

you mean that you use to jump start the car because, that you have been kept the key inside the car. but i use to keep the key more than 10 feet away from the car will it be a problem? do i wants to jump start the car if i kept it without starting more than 2 weeks?

Just exactly how do you think the battery in the C is "different" ?? It isn't.
And quite a few owners who have done things similar to what you report have had the battery fail completely shortly after that.
You might want to start shopping for a battery.........just incase you need one soon.

NO. Not unless your battery already was almost dead to begin with.

The C is not a keep it in your pocket FOB, NO BATTERY IN. FOB

. You should address your question to the PIP Forum.

That's pretty much our norm. Normal usage, for any car.

There absolutely IS a battery in the FOB for a C.

And if this or other posts are being made by an imposter, then please change your password.

    What ??
It absolutely is NOT normal for the battery to go dead after only two days......unless you accidentally left something ON that shouldn't be.

My language was confusing, I just meant to say: we typically use our car on alternate days, no problems.

Of course there is a FOB but it is used as in most cars.. If the FOB battery is shot or weak in a PIP, gen 2 or. 3 you may not be able to start the car at all.

I still don't understand what point you are trying to get across here.

There is a specific procedure to start a "keyless" ignition system with a dead battery in your FOB.
I assume that applies to ALL keyless ignition systems and not just the Toyota models; it certainly works similarly with my Ford.
