Hi all - I'm thinking of buying a 2012 Prius c, and I'm a little concerned about the low clearance. I live in a snowy rural region, with plenty of (decently maintained) dirt roads, including our driveway. We plow, of course, but how concerned should I be about clearance, esp. in winter? What are your experiences with clearance - does the car bottom out a lot entering/leaving driveway/parking lots/etc?

    Thanks!

I only scrape the front spoiler rubber lip on steep descents. Never when going up though. Nothing else ever has bottomed out on me.

We just had 7 inches of snow (extremely rare here), and my c did have some trouble getting out of our driveway, where it hadn't been packed down, though it never got stuck. Just slow going. It felt like that was the deepest it could handle, but I've never been in anything deeper. Maybe other posters can contribute.

I've had no trouble with driving my Prissy in NC mountains where snow grading isn't all that well graded but its clearance is about the same as most cars but not as great as my truck. If your car was fine the Prius C will be as well or better in snow conditions.
