I bought my Prius-c (new) in California in 2013. The hybrid battery has just died after 9 years old and 113,000 miles. Toyota is saying the warranty for the hybrid battery is 8 years/100,000 miles. Does anyone know if California law requires Toyota to warrant the hybrid battery for 10 years/150,000 miles for my car, even though it was sold in 2013?

    Thanks for any responses.

Since the 2013 Prius c was certified in California (PDF) as a SULEV Ⅱ (and not a PZEV), the longer warranty you mentioned wouldn’t have been required. I wouldn’t expect any coverage beyond that described in the Warranty & Maintenance Guide (PDF).
