the corolla radio has different dimensions (wider) than std double din. metra probably would work if you hacked it up.
METRA Kit doesn't work on Corolla/Highlander, Metra kit is for Aftermarket radios only. go to PRIUS C with Highlander Radio | PriusChat to see the comparison between JT plate and Metra plate.
I got my dash kit from aliexpress after seeing a post on the buy/sell forums and it fits perfectly! It was more money than JT was selling his for however. Just got a 2014 C Model 2, and really wanted the sat nav. I've been looking for after market stuff that looks more like the stock model 4, on the cheap. Any thoughts on getting junkyard parts? Just came across a site called automotix and found 38 GPS radios in stock... under $200. Also saw several 2013 Corolla radios for less than $150 -any thoughts. I'd have no idea which one to get.
Hello jonpk, One question, I bought and install the same radio you have, the back lit buttons you mention are the ones in touch screen... did the power, audio, tracks, setup, etc buttons also have orange back lit? since in my radio those button do not have back lit, or maybe the radio i received is broken... don't know, please confirm me this. Thanks.
the backlit on those buttons will only come on with headlights AND if you turn up the brightness of your car's interior dash lights (on the knob to the right of the steering wheel that controls the brightness of dash lights)...if the knob is turned all the way down (lowest brightness of dash with headlights) then you won't get any backlit and yes those backlit are orange/lava colored in nature (it is probably green for those who have the highlander radio instead)
yes the highlander radio has green backlit buttons. They only turn on with the headlights and if your dash light dial are high enough.
I dont have the dash light dimmer in my car !! I guess I'll have to order one switch. When I turn on the headlights the radios button won't turn on and the you can't see them in the night.
It's dimmer that controls the "range angle" of the headlights, the part I need is the Light Rheostat 8411942020, I hope this can connect to the main electrical system.
thanks for the pictures. do you also have an output picture of the hids against the wall? also regarding the radio; did your stock radio have the back lit buttons?
hmmm interesting that your new radio doesn't work. i honestly dont see why the new radio lights wont work but the old radio, which uses the same connections, works.
It's just the nature of the beast that the stock radio is programmed (or w/e) so that backlit comes on when headlights come on (no matter the position of the dash brightness dial), while the corolla/highlander radio may not be programmed in that way for the C... But it's just weird that your country doesn't require a dash brightness dial for vehicle (s)
