"bring it in every 5k or 6months whichever comes first. "
Go by the "every 6 months" option.

I don't know if the C uses a spin on or cartridge filter. The spin on for a Gen 2 for instance is like $4.50
Lots of deals all the time on ebay.

You assume that your car is being serviced with high quality Toyota 0-20 from a bottle. Where does it say they have to use this particular oil? Its an assumption on your part.

What I'm saying is there not using the Toyota 0-20. There not opening up a bottle.
There using crap oil that is stored in a huge vat. Go back there and look for yourself.

I was told at the open night we went to that they use oil from a bulk container, but it is the same stuff they sell across the part's counter.

As long as that's true, I think it's a good idea: cleaning used 1 (or 4 or 5) quart motor oil bottles, to the point the plastic can be recycled, is a pain.

Even if its the same oil impossible to maintain quality in a vat. High susceptibility to dirt & moisture. In fact its petty nasty. The transfer alone is ugly. Just like the vat's at the oil change places.
The vat supply trucks are nasty and have never been cleaned for years. The vats themselves are really nasty with all kinds of crap floating around in it. There never cleaned because its to hard to clean them.

Where's Jayman when I need him lol with his stories of vat oil horror.

Plus I don't believe it is the same as the stuff in a bottle which I am sure is a very good oil.

Look at the paperwork on the Toyota care. I bet it says "FREE oil changes" not "FREE SYNTHETIC oil" changes. Most people couldn't care less one way or the other as most people don't even know
the difference. There at the dealer so it must be correct right?

This is my point: If you go to the dealer and ask for an oil change you get the vat unless you specify and pay up the wazoo for synthetic. The vat is bad news. I'll take any flavor bottle over the vat.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about the specific wording of the Toyota Care contract.

You can also buy them on Amazon for like $7.00.

I'm not sure how much the dealership sells them for.

Ok cartridge is like $5. Thank you.

Why would someone use any other type if its that cheap to get the original high quality filter.

The C uses a spin on filter. Same filter as my wife's '09 Prius.

From what I've read about the Toyota 0-20, it's a very good oil. I use M1 0-20. It's a very good oil. Comparing the two is like comparing Pin A and Pin B, and whether having 10 angels dancing on a pinhead is better or worse than having 12 angels dancing on the head of a pin.

    So I don't bother...

The Meijer by me has Mobil 1 0w-20 for $22.49 for the large handle-bottle ($7.09 for a single quart).
