I was driving on the highway at around 130 km/h. Went over two areas where the road was bumpy/elevated. Heard when stuff at the trunk area made noise as it was probably lifted then dropped. About a minute after, the check hybrid system warning message came up and the car started decelerating on it's own and I pulled over and it came to a stop. Now, when I start the vehicle, the ready sign comes on, but the engine does not. If I try switching to drive or reverse, the screen changes to an error message saying to place in park. the car moves in the direction of the gear, but very sluggish and also bucks. If I start the car and do nothing, the HV battery shows full level but decreases rapidly to 1 bar in less than a minute then a constant beep is heard and screen goes into error. Also now the power steering light comes on. So far the engine hasn't turned on and cannot charge the HV battery. The only error code that comes up is P3000 (cant get any subcodes). No error codes for engine or anything else. Was wondering if something could have became loose or wire tear/disconnected when I hit the bump as the car was working flawlessly before. I've also checked the service plug which is correctly intact.

Try disconnecting the 12V battery for a few seconds, then reconnect it to automatically reset a few conditions. If you are lucky, it will not be necessary to expose the HV battery and begin looking for broken bus bars or other connectors.

Thanks for the reply, however I have tried this to no avail. Engine still does not come on and same issues arise

Based on your description of how this happened, I would unplug and reconnect every connector that is associated with the high voltage hybrid battery and hybrid system, both under the hood and at the hybrid battery location. It sounds like the hybrid battery is not plugged in somewhere and the car will not run even on the gas engine if the hybrid battery is dead or not connected.

I wonder if the bump is unrelated to the condition, just coincidental. I wonder if the inverter has failed. You start the car and it is ok until you shift into gear then it quits. I bet there are more codes, your tool just can’t read them.

If I start the car and also wait about 1 minute or less without doing anything, it still goes into error. Can this be a symptom of failed inverter also?

I was told that it's possible that it can be a bad HV battery ECU. How likely is this?

It could be either one. The key is getting it to a hybrid specialist for a once over. That will be the key.

Tried the new hv battery ecu and same problem. I was told that there is power from the inverter but mg1 isn't starting.
Are there any fuse or sensors that will prevent mg1 from turning? Also there are no codes being logged so is it possible that it can be a mechanical issue with mg1?

My Gen 2 Prius hit a HUGE pothole I did not even see. I had no problems before that. My Hybrid Triangle of death light comes on now if I hit some small bumps too. I think when we hit big bumps like that all the objects, including batteries, are temporarily lifted into that free fall state. Its just milliseconds but its enough that when the car slams down in knocks sensitive connections loose. I know this from electronics experience. I am trying to go through my trunk to my battery to see if anything is loose, but I do not know what to disconnect to protect myself from becoming fried
