I am a geek and it's one of my favorite shows!

 

I was born in Pasadena. I always like to hear them talk about places I used to go!

 

My gf and I don't generally watch American TV comedy -- our tastes run to the British -- but we make sure to catch BBT every week. Funniest thing on TV...

Best part is that we each identify with Leonard but think the other person is Sheldon.

 

As a self proclaimed geek, I have to say BBT is my favorite show on network TV

 

I'm a huge nerd too and LOVE BBT. We met Bill Prady at TAM (a skeptics convention) a couple years ago and it was fun to hear about how he created BBT... Sheldon is awesome.

 

Excellent show ... never miss it.

My first name is Sheldon and I drive a Prius. Does that make me a geek? My wife says yes.

 

Heck no. Sheldon doesn't drive.

 

He did once, but very slowly. I especially liked the bit when he built virtual self to be safer that bumped into The Woz, and he falls down the stairs on his way to get his Apple II autographed. Funniest episode so far....Ted

 

One of the only shows I try to catch whenever it's on. Very funny and, for an American sitcom, surprising that it has done so well. Definitely not your typical, dumbed-down-for-the-average-American TV program.

BTW, I was watching a re-run just the other night where they introduced Howard's girlfriend, Bernadette, and noticed that Leonard was driving a Prius. I also noticed that the front seat head restraints were removed --- probably for better camera angles.

 

Your wife is partially correct. People named Sheldon are automatically awarded Geek, E-1 (GV1) status. Driving a Prius advances them to Geek, E-2 (GV2) status.

At least that's what a geek sitting on a barstool, drinking a diet virgin Cuba Libre, told me it says in the geek manual.

 

the best man at my wedding (28 years ago) works for NASA. He says the show is pretty funny. He also says I could work for NASA because of two things: 1) I drive a Prius and 2) I quote Star Trek (alot).

 

Brian in Family Guy also drives a Prius.

My kids tell me a nerd every day, but they say in a good way! :lol: I love the BBT & never miss it.

My father-in-law likes that British comedy too, I've always thought it was too stupid. :lol:
