Prius Millage Dropped Drastically

    That could very well be the problem, a road test might verify thing.
    I mean if you have a crooked thingy, it never will work right.

    Another thought, if something was installed in the front end and done improperly, eg: shims missing, too tight, too loose, not calibrated, etc the car tracks to one side. That's mechanical drag. Should show on front tires, eleven wear, even scruffing.

    Talha: Your first post may be the key to your problem.
    When you said you repaired the part and then your mileage decreased. If this is part of the steering, you either repaired it wrong, over tightened that part, did not follow alignment procedures.
    Look carefully at the last place YOU worked.

    If the steering tie rod is misassembled you can easily introduce minor drag or friction in one or both front wheels. Torque limits might also be critical.

    I personally am not too adept with front end assembly's, so I never screw with them.
    A good mechanic can check that for you..

    maybe it was an axle, and something else is still damaged. hit a curb?

    Well, he did say after he repaired the part he had the problem. That's pretty definitive. I was in Electronic/ Mechanical Maintenance for years and the axiom states " Always look at the last place it was worked"
