Prius Plug-in vs Chevy-Volt thoughts

    Ripping along at 85mph may be "fun" until someone gets hurt, then you may face jail time:

    Obviously these guys thought they were such awesome drivers that they would never screw up.

    Averaging >110mpg over >100 mile trips in the Insight-I (in the summer) has been way way way more fun than driving fast in a car or on a motorcycle as I used to do!! Largely silent, too, because coasting much of the time. [don't worry: electric steering; auto restarts if shifted into gear, if accel is tapped or if brake vac falls too low; airbags active]

    Only here would someone think getting 110 mpg was fun. Of course driving 85 mph isn't necessarily fun either it depends on the road.

    Most days I get home driving that way with 250+ mpg indicated.

    I use about a charge and a half a day with my opportunity charges, so say about 18 kwhs going about 50 miles or 36 kwh/100 miles. I don't really know how that compares directly to 110 mpg.
