Well it appears that Toyota IS selling this package as an after-market accessory. Why all the business that it was only available on new purchases? Am I wrong?

Technically, the listing of accessories on Toyota's site are for the purposes of knowing what you can add when you buy the car, not as an aftermarket catalog. That said, I have reached out to a few of our dealership partners to see what the story is on getting the PLUS package aftermarket.

Right now they are crash replacement only. You have to supply a VIN of the car that originally came with them first. I got my 2010 Prius last week and was looking at the wheels that come on it. If you have any other specific questions just let me know and I can check. Thanks

The specific question I have is, considering PPPI (pre-plan product improvements), what improvements will be coming on the v? I don't want to get rooked out of improvements for my efforts to be an early purchaser. I guess I will wait a year instead of buying right away.

The v (wagon)? You're not going to miss out on improvements for at least two years. If you're considering the regular Prius, it's a good idea to wait for the prospective facelifted 2012.

Really? I'm considering the regular Prius, and I was told it would be about 15 months til I saw a 2012... :(

Your dealer who wants you to buy now told you that? Don't believe them.

The Road & Track blurb suggests that the regular Prius will get the same minor model changes as the plug-in, depending on your interpretation of it.
