I am completely fed up with this trash Entune system. I've already sent 2 people to buy Hondas instead of Toyotas solely because of this trash "LACKOFinfotatainment" system. I wanted to know if anyone is pursuing a little adventure to identify the control board for the LCD panel so we can add a bypass for this shit.

    Hi NOOB.
Since your flurry of complaints back in July haven't seen you since today.
I'm going against the old guideline "don't feed the troll" ...

I guess safety isn’t high on your priority list. I looked briefly at Honda and took a pass.
Their standard safety ensemble is a fraction of what Toyota's is.
BUT you do get Apple/Google Play. That's important.

i have not read anything about mods to bypass anything.

best you can do is replace the h/u. in the scheme of things, considering the overall price of a car, it's not a big deal, and many do it just for better sound

I agree that Toyota's so-called infotainment is pretty bad. But then again, that's the absolute least important feature of a car. Safety, reliability, efficiency, and comfort are way more important.

    Comfort could use some tweaking

I just drove a 1,430 mile round trip to North Carolina. I was comfortable most of the way, but eventually I started to feel it in the tailbone. Also, having armrests somewhere in the general vicinity of my elbows would be nice. And road noise on the rough pavement at interstate speeds is probably an OSHA violation. I-75 and I-95 in GA are unbelievable!!

I guess I must be a 58-year-old geezer or something, but I’m mostly fine with it. Little quirky in spots, but works fine for me.

I love geeky toys, but as long as my phone's audio pairs to the car speakers somehow, good enough for me. I rent all sorts of cars all over the world and that's the constant. My phone through the car. GPS and radio/music all come from the phone. The car is just a glorified bluetooth speaker with wheels.

I'm in that bracket and the Tesla screen looks awesome to me. But infotainment is pretty low on the list of things I look for.

I'm not so sure about this. My brother has this feature on both a Subaru Outback and Honda Clarity Fuel Cell, and it's fairly worthless. To the point that he doesn't use this feature in either car.

i drove my Prime 2400 miles in the first week I owned it, around northern California and then cross-country to the Nebraska/Iowa border. Comfortable the entire way. So, I guess the comfort evaluation depends on the person, their build, how the seats fit, etc. I'm 6'3" and for me the car is quite comfortable. Not the quietest ride on the road, but not the loudest either.

pretty much a common complaint to all cars. You be very surprised how many users complain about their luxury cars after long term use

True dat! Every seat has a bottom and you'll find it eventually. From what I hear, though, the gen 4 seats are better than previous generations. I keep hoping my wife's '07 will finally give out to I can justify a gen 4 or Prime. LOL!

Good luck, and let me know when you find out way to disable the LCD functionality and still keep the essentials. I have no need for any infotainment or nav functions. Most of functionality already can be controlled by MID alone using steering wheel switches, but there are a few things that still requires the large LCD. I for one have the LCD screen turned off 99.9% of times.

you can mirror your phone to the tablet with the purchase of some after market adapter. It will trick the gps in the car but let you have thigns like netflex or waze

I’m guessing you’re not talking about the 11.6” sucker, since that’s the only way to control climate control, audio, etc. (?)

Yes, I am talking about 11.6" sucker. I have its display OFF almost all the time. Both, climate control and most music selection can be controlled on MID using steering wheel buttons only. My climate control is set at 70F AUTO, so I usually do not have to change it, but it can be lowered or increased on MID. One thing I can not do is to turn off the climate control.

Ah, right right right... Totally forgot about those MID screens; always skip past them. Good point.
