some prime owners here have used the warranty. nothing major, iirc. so likely more out there who aren't members.
there are issues, but probably not warranty related.cracking windscreens, rebooting head units, bad 12 volts, charging problems,

    congrats and welcome!

sounds like a great deal. like insurance, most extended warranties do not get used. there have been reports here form those who have though, and they are extremely happy if it was going to be a major expense.

there are also people who report that some things that have broken are not covered, and they didn't read the warranty when they bought it, just took the dealers word.

that being said, a thousand bucks is a reasonable price.

    all the best!(y)

    Hello All!

I am in the market for a Prius Prime advanced and am hoping to purchase this weekend. Any tips for negotiating the price down from what is offered. Currently, what was quoted via the website is:

    Prius Prime Advanced
    Blizzard
    All Weather Floor Mats

    34,180

What is the lowest I could ask for and then move up. Thanks for any tips!

    SF Toyota, April 2018

Plus model, with a few extras thrown in that I didn't want (rubber mats, door guard, bumper applique).

    MSRP of 27,100.

Eventually got down to: $23,286 & 0% for 72m (other option was $500 less with no financing)

But the out-the-door price was a bit worse with something like 800-900 documentation/delivery fees. With sales tax of ~9% the final price was like $26,033.

Any Texas buyers care to help me price a Prime Premium?

Got a quote for $33,300 OTD from a Houston area dealer. Texas (and Gulf Coast Toyota) currently has no incentives for Primes..... really sucks.

    Base Price: $29,975
    Installed Options: $1,438
    Total: $31,413

    Installed Options List:
    Premium Carpet Mats
Vehicle Protection Package (Paint Sealant, Fabric Guard, Paint Renewer Cleaner)

How much more room do I have to negotiate in this price?

I really hate how they add on $1500 in installed options, but this is pretty much all profit items... $400 for carpet mats... give me a break.

There should be plenty of negotiating room. There are a number of people in this thread (myself included) who bought Advanced for $2K or more less than what they're quoting for a Premium. (removed reference to cash back offer - it's valid in my zip code but not yours, unfortunately...)

Check out Gullo Toyota or use their price in the negotiations. Also tell them you don't want the extras and for them to take it off. If they won't, tell them you won't pay for them. There's not much of a market in TX for the Prime and the car probably sat around for a while so you have the advantage. Also the $2500 state rebate is taxed so you'll end up with less than $2000.

Have you considered flying to the northeast to buy and drive it home? They're probably taking $3-4000 off MSRP plus $3500 Toyota rebate. If you're not in a hurry wait til December.

I've definitely decided on purchasing a prius prime advanced this year. The question for me now is when. It seems Toyota may offer more incentives in December and I can certainly wait as I don't need a car right now. The local dealer that I'll most likely go with has 1 in stock now and 2 coming in November (no word on December yet).

I'm in California and the rebate Toyota is offering is $1,500 or .9% financing. The car they have in stock right now is about $32,942 (using costco) - $1,500 rebate + around $3,294 tax,tag and title.

Is that an okay deal (for southern California)? Would I be better off waiting for November/December?

I bought a 2018 Prius Prime Premium in NJ yesterday.

    Alloy wheel locks
    Carpet mat package
    Blue magnetism

    sales price: $29,000 +TTL
    Manufacturer rebate: $3500
    OTD price $27,966.33
    --------------------------
    Fed tax rebate: $4500
    Effective net price: $24,466.33

Got a quote from a different local dealership while I was on my way to this dealership to talk numbers. It was for a similar car but in hypersonic red for $26K before TTL. Used that for leverage. I'm a happy customer!

Seems like Balise Toyota of Warwick (Rhode Island) is back in the game for Aggressive discounts on Prius Prime. This was the same dealership that gave the best dealer discounts on the 2017 model.

The quote ( a friend of mine got from them) on Prius Prime Advanced :
    MSRP: 35,336
    Selling Price:27,008

The MSRP seems a bit inflated (Usually the MSRP for Prime Advanced varies between 34300-34800), But the net pricing is too good to miss. A net discount of $8300 over the MSRP. Taxes, Doc fee and registration Fees are extra.

This offer is valid till Oct 31.
Seems like an End of Month push.

November prices would depend on Toyota's incentives. I am hoping the incentive would go up by a bit.

Seems like Toyota has increased the manufacturer incentive on the Prius Prime from $2500 last month to $3000 this month. This is for the New england Region. Not sure about other regions.
Called a couple of dealers today and they seem to confirm the same. The toyota website hasn't been updated with this info yet.

Edit: The website is updated with the new incentives: $4000 ( up 500 from Oct) for greater NY region

Here is a detailed inventory report of the Prius Prime. I keep checking Inventory across all regions( to see demand across regions)
    * Some 2017 models are still available across some regions. You might get really good discounts on these models (may be upwards of $10000 discount)

Here is a snap shot of the Inventory:
    upload_2018-11-1_21-0-19.png

I also keep a track of Incentives across all regions for Prius Prime . Of the 6 regions where Incentives are offered, Incentives for this month (November) have gone up by $500 across all regions except NorCal and SoCal. Highest rebate for Greater NY region($4000) followed by New England, Central atlantic and Pacific Northwest ($3000). California remains unchanged at $1500:
