You make an interesting point about your area having so many Prius buyers Toyota doesn't feel a need for incentives to buy there, that is what has me puzzled about our area (South Carolina) where I get the impression there has been relatively few Prius Prime sales compared to some other areas of the country, so you would think Toyota would want to offer our area incentives to encourage more sales.

No - Toyota is not particularly interested in selling more Prius Primes in South Carolina. They are interested in selling more Prius Primes in states that have adopted California Emissions Standards. Those states require auto manufacturers to have very low emissions vehicles account for a specific percentage of their total sales. That is why even in "stingy" southern California they are offering $1500 customer cash - even though they already sell a lot of Primes, but in South Carolina and Kentucky and most other states they are offering nothing. Toyota does not get extra credit for selling Primes in our states but they do in states that have adopted California Emission Standards. They aren't interested in drumming up a bigger market for Primes in states like ours - especially not by giving deep discounts - because it doesn't benefit them.
There is no way Toyota will be offering cash back incentives on Primes in SC in March.

Thanks, I appreciate your insight on that, and it does explain why - whether it profits Toyota by them getting extra credit in some states.

Well, I guess I'll see what the best deal I can get locally in March from seeing which dealership wants my business more at that time.

Canadian. Northern Pesos is a bit of a self-loathing thing here about the exchange rate. No slight intended towards Mexico.
I think with the exchange, Primes tend to be cheaper here.

Here's what I'm looking at, at the moment. 2020 XLE, not included of course is the $4,500 federal tax credit. I'm thinking I can push them to at least 29,000 on the "sale price" aka 2k dealer discount ontop of the toyota 3k customer cash. Thoughts?

Concord Toyota from "Eva" on base LE Prime. Could post Quote Sheet if needed. Took that to Dublin and they say they will do $5900 of MSRP on a Prime that has fancy wheels, paint and moldings. Should know by tomorrow evening if thats legit.

Like I said, Concord offered $4600+ of "total MSRP" that included shipping $900 but no "Toyota Ad Fee" of $400 like Antioch was claiming (from much less dealer discount...LOL...real pays to shop)

Only two so far. I sent an e-mail to 5 sales managers at once last weekend who had the Prime XLE in the Magnetic Grey asking them to send me an itemized quote for one with no trade in, no financing, no warranties, etc with a deadline of the end of the day today saying I would buy from the lowest quote. Received back from two. May hit a couple I didn't hear back from tomorrow and go from there.

Hi. Pretty sure that's nationally as I'm seeing it come up on the Toyota.com website as a popup of "Toyotathon is on! $2,000 customer cash. Good through January 6". I've also seen that at several dealership websites. However, that could just be those sites picking up on my locality data here in New England. Note that this $2,000 was from corporate and was in addition to the incentive discount the dealership offered me to make the sale.

    Good luck in your search.

Ha! I get it now! I thought "Northern Pesos" was the name of your dealership or something! Anyway, that's just over $26,000 down here, so you got a great deal! Congratulations! (y)

Nope - not available nationally. Plug zip codes from different parts of the country into this website to see which areas have what incentives: Toyota Deals | New Toyota Incentives & Special Offers

Can these be purchased and shipped out of state with the rebates? I contacted a few dealers and some have said they can only sell primes inside NY state
