prius prime

    in ev mode, will the prime start in this mode even in the winter?

    Yes. It has a heat pump and doesn't need to warm the ice to heat the cabin.

    Depends on how cold your winter is, but the Prime can stay in EV mode at colder temperatures than the PiP, and still heat the cabin. Even a heat pump reduce the EV range when in use though.

    With the car plugged in I believe you can precondition the car's interior in winter and summer without depleting the battery. Plus it has heated seats.

    um, my pip starts in ev mode, even in winter. is this a revelation?
