I already have a bike rack and cargo carrier for a 2 inch reciever. Id rather not use adapters so I'm hoping to find a 2 inch hitch.

I would not worry to buy aluminum trailer, prius can pull max 2000bls even with GEN 2, I would not believe you will pull more than that.

Just curious where you got your information that the Prius can pull 2000lbs. Is it from people who actually have? I just know the dreaded manual says not to pull anything.

only pull max 2000bls because we are using the 1.25 inches hitch not 2' hitch, that the max for 1.25 inches hitch

That is what this thread is all about!! ....... How much weight can the Prius tow? ....... Is their a limit?

I have pulled my 1900 lb RV several times; one time with 800 lbs inside the Prius = total of 2700 lbs. ( Please read post # 1 ) .

My class 1 hitch is only rated for 2000 lbs. I'm waiting for somebody with a higher class hitch to post on what they have pulled with their Prius? I have seen a Prius pulling a large boat on I-20 one day, and the boat was 2X in size behind the Prius, weight is unknown?

Please post what you pull with your Prius with the weight of what you pull?

Chao anh. It's very easy to cut, replace, and move the lines and the material is low in cost. I have the two separate lines routed to a single "T" underneath, and the feed line up through a rubber cap into the trunk just in front of the traction battery. Not happy with first mounting the outlet next to the starting battery (have to remove the trunk tray, and it can't be adjusted while loaded) I relocated the line around behind the trunk liner to the panel on the right side of the trunk where you can remove a plastic cover to change the taillamp bulb and gave it some slack. Now with the car fully loaded, I can simply open the hatch (no interference with the cargo box), pop off the lamp access cover, and pull on the 1/4" blue airline. Add enough pressure to level the vehicle and I'm good to go. Ground clearance is very, very important as I go to a lot of remote campgrounds and offroad to desert campsites (mounting dual tow hooks in the front before leaving, LOL). I'll post a picture later.

Kknguyen, here's the 1/4" air line going underneath vehicle (note "T" combining left and right air bags) through trunk area, line inside trunk going under trunk liner and out taillamp access port, and then a shot showing cap in back where wiring harness will go through and out under bumper to hitch:

    hi all

what you think about this:), 4x8 trailer, 2.5 cube/yard Compose, 50 miles round trip, and I did twice in 4 hours, each cube/yard Compose is about 1200lbs, I got it from land fill :)

my Stayway box weight about 50 lbs give and take. I had not done the Stayway box alone but with the Rooftop, my mileage drop to 30 mile/gallons:(, I do believe that just the Stayaway box only I will not lose that much mile/gallon
