Prius resets itself every time it's turned off

    I think it might be a fuse. Surly all the bulbs aren't burnt out a one time. I will try switching some bulbs form my Prius to this old one.

    So I replaced the MFD unit and it wasn't working. Turns out a fuse was blown from when the screen was punched in. I wonder if it could have blown more fuses other than that one. What do you think?

    Replaced the battery and still acts up! No battery level bars on the MFD, and still resets itself

    Did the new battery get charged BEFORE being installed (very important).
    The battery bars on the MFD are for the HV hybrid battery, not the 12 V one.
    I think you need professional help sorting this out; dealer or other shop that knows hybrids.

    I understand that the battery bars are not for the 12v battery. I just think it's really odd that the arrows and battery graph have disappeared form a fully functioning and driving Prius. So weird!

    So my assumption is you mean when the car is in READY.

    Does it look the same as when you put it in ACC mode (1 press of the power button with foot OFF the brake)?

    Also, have you checked all the connections on the back of the MFD? Maybe pull each one and re-seat confirming they're all plugged in and fully connected (with a click, if applicable).

    Yes that's what it looks like! I guess that is a good next step, I'll remove it and reinstall

    i had similar problem and it was the battery cable was loose . make sure it is tight. thats why it keep resetting. unless the battery is defective or bad

    Where was the cable loose? On the battery connection? I replaced the battery and made sure the connection was tight. Thanks for you reply!

    7 years later...
    So What was it?
    My 2009, keeps resetting and sometime doesnt even start...and then after 10 minutes, i try again and it starts...it sounds like 12V, but its brand new...i was rear ended not long ago, and since then the car started acting up...would the diagnostic find an issue at the hybrid battery? Im not even sure if the car would start at all if the hybrid had the issue...
