Prius running without catalytic converter assembly

When you can "barely make it up a hill", what does the MFD show for the HV battery SOC, is it all the way down at one bar?

What is the size of this hill, is that like a small mountain (1k feet) or just a small elevation change in a few steep city blocks?

Have you heard this "metal on metal slapping sound" in the past?

 

I thought we were WAY past that; guess not.
The excessive oil going out the tail pipe clogs and fouls the catalytic converter, which is part of the exhaust system.
It is a chemical reaction and the oil stops that from happening.......and under some unusual circumstances can even set the accumulated oil on fire.
