I used to own a '62 Buick LeSabre with the Dynaflow transmission. When I drive a Prius I find its acceleration to be very similar to that of my long lost Buick. Any congruency as far as design is concerned?

ETA: For those of you not familiar with the Buick transmission: Dynaflow

Also, I'm very curious to see an animation on the Prius drivetrain and how it works, but my web searches reveal nothing more than a simplistic "how it works" cartoon that so basic, it doesn't come close to satiating my curiosity. Anyone have a link to a literal video?

It has basically nothing in common with a Dynaflow except it has oil and planetary gears in it. There are no brakes bands, clutches, valves or torque converter.

It is extremely simple, except for the electronics. Post a link to the simple cartoon and someone will tell you if it's correct.

My old car actually popped up on a web search when looking for the tranny pics. Actual pics of my old Buick my elder daughter affectionately coined "peemilk"...

This is a Lexus video, but it's the same drivetrain as the Prius.
