Prius v 12V Battery Replacement? Mileage/Where to buy?

    Dealer charge to do it - $15. (I think it helped that I mentioned that I might be replacing the car while the sales manager was standing there....) Tax was more.

    Yeah there are various defices to supply a little voltage while doing battery swaps. I use a jump pack with a cord that goes into OBD port, does the trick.

    If you do disconnect completely, there's various settings lost: the trip meters, radio presets, window auto-up (maybe), and dash display goes back to default, the car with schematic showing power transfer.

    Also: the car does some strange rev-up for the first trip or two, just after starting. It's some sort of recalibration I guess. It's a little disconcerting.
