Yes, well. The HyCam had been in a accident...and the miles were at 9000 or so. I got a great trade in value for it.

Well said. I couldn't agree more. I'm surpirsed it took this long in the dialog to be said.

If I wanted comfort or performance I wouldn't have traded an M3 for the Prius... what I wanted, and I believe we should all wish for this, is a way of getting around that does its best to reduce this countries dependence on foreign oil, encourage the development of the greenest cars, plus hand over the cleanest planet to the next generation (and yes, I do walk or cycle the shorter journeys).

According to the brochures, the HyCam battery has a higher kW rating and also higher voltage than the Prius battery, so is it true it's smaller?

The Prius does have A/C vents for passengers underneath the front seats, unless I'm misunderstanding and the Camry has some better vents located in say the rear of the center-console.

    You're mistaken

The Prius has "rear seat heater ducts" and those are the ones that are under the front seats

The Camry's "rear seat vents" are the ones that come out of the rear of the centre console box. That's in addition to the rear seat heater ducts

the AC vents may not be available in the backseats, but on more than one occasion, i've had complaints that my AC settings were too cold for someone riding in the back.

I don't know the specs for the HyCam. But do not confuse the kW rating with the kWh rating. The first is the amount of current it can provide, and therefore the amount of power for acceleration. The second is the amount of energy it holds.

The sheer ugliness of the system sitting up on the dash precludes any of those benefits to me.

Daniel, which model Garmin do you have? ...and how well does it handle re-routing (if for example, you run into a detour on its prescribed route)?
