Hello! I’ve been having this problem where my prius won’t turn on. The first time I took in the battery and got a new one. Then lately when I’m on my way to the car it opens fine with the key fob but will just die once I am inside. I always make sure the lights are off so it won’t drain the battery. It is just odd since the battery is brand new. Any suggestions as to why this happens?

Maybe you just need to replace the battery on your keyfob? If the car cannot get a signal from the keyfob, the car won't start.

Next time it won't start, try to put the keyfob into the keyslot and see if it'll start.

New batteries sometimes are bad too.
And sometimes they sit on the shelf DEAD and need to be charged.

But your situation sounds like a loose connection on one end of a main battery cable.
The negative end where it connects to the frame or body is often the culprit.

One person found that opening and then SLAMMING the door would bring it back to life.

I think you might be right. I slammed the door and it did turn back on but just for a moment haha.

Anyone who can tell me how this works? Not sure where to post my issue or if I make a new thread? I tried doing a thread and it says it is waiting for moderation

That's probably what is happening. Around here, waiting for moderation means waiting for our one, actually active, moderator, who sometimes, apparently (oh, the rumors that fly) does ... other things.

We've tried talking to him about that, but it keeps happening.
