    That measurement cannot be correct.

If it is, your battery charger is damaging your battery. Maximum charging voltage should be 14.4V.

If you are using one of those massive battery chargers that can produce 50A or 100A charging current, that is way too much for the Prius 12V AGM battery.

At this point you should disconnect the charger and see how the battery performs. Don't be surprised if you need to buy a new battery eventually.

The OE Prius 12v battery cannot handle fast charging (more than 4 amps)!

Try a new 12V battery before getting a walletdectomy. Pep Boys sells (or used to sell) the Exide Edge battery. If it's not the battery, you should be able to return it to the store.

when I went to diagnostic mode my battery showed 12.6v but it wont stay on that reading it was keep going down I believe one point I hit 10.9v is this normal? maybe because I'm using battery power anyway so it wont stay up 12.6?? I don't know I was thing another thing let say if battery isn't good, but since I got direct jump from the front that should take care of bad trunk battery?

In my many years of car ownership, I've had a bad battery prevent my car from starting even though it checked out as good otherwise. I know it's a hassle to switch out a Prius battery but chances are it won't cost you anything but your labor to try it.

In any case, I hope you find out what's wrong soon.

Or if you were so inclined you could take your trunk battery out and take it to an auto parts store and have them load test it there. But from what you are posting, your 12 volt battery is at the end of its service life. If your battery doesn't pass their load test then you know for cock certain you are at least in it for a new 12 volt battery. And if not you can look elsewhere for your DTCs.

DTC P0A0D means that one of the following is the problem:

    1. The orange high voltage traction battery interlock switch is not properly installed, or
    2. The inverter cover is loose. That cover has an interlock switch which will open when the cover is not tightly secured

How long have you owned the car prior to this problem and has anyone been messing with either of the above two parts?

I asked my brother he was driving this car before all this happened and he just now told me he took the car for car wash to get it cleaned up from inside out he might think they washed engine also, other than that nothing else had happened to this car I owned this car since Feb and it was running fine without any problems.

    1. The orange traction battery interlock switch is on the left side of the traction battery. Remove the folding hatch floor and the black plastic tray over the spare tire, for access. Look at the orange switch, which has a handle. When the switch is installed, the handle pivots 90 degrees, then is slid down to lock in place.

    2. The inverter cover is the shiny aluminum cover that can be seen when you open the engine compartment. That cover must be fully secured with several bolts holding it to the inverter body.
