Hover over your name under your avatar and look at the status bar of your browser. You will see the URL to your personal profile page. It will end with a number. That's your number.

<--- You can test it now by hovering over my name.

However, that's a bit of a misnomer. Over the years, people have come and gone. Some forcibly thrown out. Additionally, I think the numbering scheme has changed as Danny has switched from one forum software to another. So I don't want to go on record by saying the number you see is exactly your member number. For example, Gaetan Lefrance shows as being member number 116, 530 which can't be correct.

Thanks for a forum that helps us understand and use our Prii better. The information and diverse opinions are very valuable, especially to those of us who have recently purchased our first one.

At 12733, I'm pushing old-timer status... heck I remember when Danny came to Chicago before he had a Prius.

<old man voice, wavy visual effects> Let me tell you about the olden days....

Back then seeing a Prius was much rarer than today. Danny came here with his girlfriend (to-be-wife) to buy his first one (odd that he ran the forum for several years before buying a Prius), and posted online about his plans. Shortly after buying it, he was driving it around, still with the dealer plates, and a woman ran up to him at a light and asked "Are you Danny?" She saw the plates, knew his story, and made the assumption the only person with a brand new black Prius from that dealer on that weekend had to be Danny, and actually stopped him on the street.

I also met TonyPSchaefer a couple months before that. I found out I worked a couple blocks away from his job, so then he started guessing which Prius was mine "the blue one at the corner building or the white one at the red brick building?" (I parked behind my building, so he hadn't seen mine). Interesting though that he basically knew all of the Prii in the industrial park. Can't do that today. I'm sure I was the first to have a Prius in my subdivision (about 150 houses).

One of topics that was being discussed was, is it appropriate to wave at other Prius drivers? I reserved that only for those in the Gen 1 car, which was and is quite rare.

My number is 1,015. Man, I've been here a long time, I guess. :)

It says I've been a member since March of 2004.
Which about the time I started the Madison Hybrid Group. We've been meeting now for over 10 years.

In Dixie, we used to get a lot of waves but when gas hit $3/gallon the one-finger ones fell off.

It also helps that I learned how to 'get stuck' behind slow traffic like trucks, service vans, and trailers loaded with lawn-care equipment. Also, taking routes less traveled, slower roads with lights and stop signs, has allowed stealthy, Prius-optimized, driving.

I see that we're now ALMOST ½ way between 100K & 200K members !!!! It's cool being one of the old geezers here seniority wise ... under 5 figures (i'm in the 6,000 member club on PC) now, having joined in the 2005's. And that was after lurking for almost a ½yr. The only drag about hanging around for such a long time is that you start to get more & more 'grey' (or fat, or broken down health wise) .... & that person you see in the mirror each morning looks more & more like your wrinkly old parents. Glad mine are both still alive at their ripe old ages :) . Same thing with seniority at work. At Disney - out of several hundred members in the aerospace workers union, and 32-ish years of service ... I'm finally in the single digits of the several hundreds on our craft's seniority list. On a different note ... I'd vote that we set up some kind of prize for the Prius chat prospective member # 200,000. It won't be that far off - considering how fast we've come between 100k & nearly 150k members. Disney celebrates big time for their (for example) mile stone attendances - like 500 millionth guest at their different parks. Hey, maybe Danny would like to do an all expense paid trip to his home ... and donate that extremely creepy wig he's wearing on his avatar to member #200k.
    :p
