    Hi guys,
Today I'll installed Prolong harness on my gen 2 Prius 2007 with 147k. The test was ok and all the fans are working.
Hybrid battery shown in dash that all 10 bars are Green.
So, I started with 230V and after just 1 hour I have 239V. Instructions mentioned max value at filling phase 235V and this phase is supposed to take somewhere between 4 and 16 hours. So the question is if this is normal or what? Is the balancing phase allready?

The fuller the battery is at the start, the less work and time the charger has to do;).

If you do not see the charge level fluctuate more than a volt or 2, the top end balance is done, then you can start the discharge cycle:).

    Some questions:

    • What’s your plan (2 cycle discharge, just a top end balance, etc)?
    • Did you have any dash warning lights before installing the Prolong equipment?
    • Do you have the Intelligent Discharger or the light bulb Discharger?
Good luck and let us know if you have questions (y).

Thanks. I have now 241V from 1 hour ago. Instruction said that I must let charger on still 4-6 hours to complete balancing after I have stady voltage. Is that correct?

I did'nt have any issue with battery and no warning lights. Only I notest low mileage (37 MPG) and low power on the Engine.
My plan is to have 3 cycles charging/discharging. I have inteligent discharger.

    Please kindly advice further.
    Thanks.

The reasoning for leaving it sit at the voltage for a short period of time is to balance all the modules so when discharging, it affects all modules equally ;).

I follow the written directions from Hybrid Automotive :).

As you have questions, post em up and we’ll help you through it;).

Look forward to your data point:).

    Keep us posted (y).

Hi. I allready made first discharging to 134V. It took 9 hours. Now I am on charging and after 4 hours the voltage show 220V. Question:
If I plan to do all 3 charging/discharging cycles, please tell me if I need to do also the balancing phase (4-6 hours after the voltage stop rising) after each charging?

    Yes;).

Charging to ensure the modules are balanced before deep discharge.

    Some questions:
    • Any reason you are doing a three cycle reconditioning?
    • We’re you planning on doing the 84 volt then 17?
    • Or doing them at the same voltage (134 or 84)?
Our 2010 with 175 k miles on it I have only done 2 cycle reconditioning (down to 84 volts) as we have not seen a dash light for a hv battery issue:).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

    Plan to do all 3: 134, 84, 17V.
The car is 2007 and I have it almost 1 year now. When I looked on battery elements looks like some replacement was made before.
    Why? I should not?

I attached some pictures with copper plates ... May be is a good ideea to clean those plates too.... What do you think? IMG_20180317_125552.jpg IMG_20180317_125520.jpg IMG_20180317_125510.jpg IMG_20180317_125502.jpg

There does appear to be corrosion on the bars :(.

You said you think it is not the original pack. Do you see evidence of a repair, like different module manufacturers date, or other signs?

If it is a rebuilt pack, that changes my opinion slightly, but I helped a member rebuilt his pack in a 2006 and he just did a 2 cycle reconditioning down to 84 volts.

That’s one experience point, but looking forward to seeing your results once the process is finished (y).

I did'nt check the date on elements but I've seen on those elements some marker Red and black signs as it from different packs.

The mileage when I buy the car was 52 mpg and gradually drop 40 în autumn and to 35 în winter. Now in Spring temperature is 37 MPG.
I will make all those 3 cycles and I hope for best results.

I'll keep you posted with the state of charging and results after this procedure.

Does this charger comes complete with discharged, or what? I'm trying to shop for one on Amazon? Can the charger be modified to work on all Toyota by rid and electric vehicles, considering I ha e lots of those vehicles I fix?

    Thanks Ray!

I leave it charging for about 19 hours before doing another discharge (around 24 hours for charge and discharge). The final charge will be around 24-30 hours

About 24 hours is about right.

Verify it is stable for 4-6 hours and then start discharging.

Good luck and keep us posted(y).
