    In my 2 years of driving and working on a couple gen 2 Prius, just observe the battery State of Charge screen in everyday driving. If on flat roads, I expect a good traction battery to stay between 6-7 bars if charge. Going to 8 and dropping below 4 regularly indicates a weaker battery. Low MPG is also an indicator or weak traction battery (and also possibly weak 12v battery).
