Just picked up our new Prius from the dealer last night and couldn't be happier! Ended up waiting it out and it was a good thing because we got the color we wanted (Spectra Blue) and paid invoice price. Surprisingly, they only tried pushing the extended warranty and nothing else. Now we have to surf Priuschat to find some accessories! Thanks to everyone here for all the great info before purchasing!

I can understand waiting to get just what you want. I bought a 2007 last year, and "settled" on a color I didn't want (Super White -- I hate white cars) and a lower package (#4, I wanted the Nav on the #5). It took me about 17 months to find what I actually wanted, and of course paid the price of trading in a new car for another new car. :) But I am now happy with my 2009 #5 Driftwood Pearl!

Definitely worth waiting, when I bought mine the dealer had 2 on the lot that I could choose from in the package I wanted, one silver and one black. I almost settled on the black and it does look beautiful, but I really wanted Mag. Gray. They lowered their price to try to convince me to take the black, next thing I know I ended up with the lower price plus they ordered the mag gray for me and I was lucky enough to only have to wait about 10 days or so.

    Hooray and Welcome!

I waited 9 weeks for mine, and glad I did also. Got the color and package I wanted.

Good for you! Post pics, and have fun browsing!

When you say "Invoice" price, do you really mean Dealer invoice price,
or window "Sticker" price, with no mark-up?

If only you could have been as lucky as me - Dealer said on Sun. Aug 24th - 'we forgot to delete you from June' (others laid off at work, so got off list, but back on list in early August)

Then they said, a pack5 in Spectra Blue will be in for you in 2 days. Top choice in color.

Downside - prices in late August were full sticker price, due to wait list.

Congrats on the new car. Great to have a car with economy better than a motorcycle.
