Does anyone know, if the HV fan doesn't spin, will there be any DLC set? My belief if that the ECU just sends different DC voltages to it and assumes it is working. I suppose at some high temp on the HV battery it might throw up a red triangle (ie. fan highest speed called for but never cools).

Also, what technically goes on in Park when you step on the gas pedal. Does the ICE just spin, but since the parking motor is engaged the planetary gear cannot spin, but does the ring gear move or on the Gen 1, the pseudo clutch thing is disengaged?? Or is that clutch with springs just to absorb shocks and speed mismatches. ie. does MG1 spin? Does it charge the battery or not much because there isn't a field voltage or load on the ICE.

When doing force charging in D it is clear that there is a load on the ICE and the battery charges quickly. On a scan gauge is there current sent to MG2 when the brake is on, or is the computer smart enough?

If there is an error in the battery cooling fan motor circuit that lasted for 10 sec., DTC P3077 will be set (2 trip detection logic). You don't have to wait for the DTC to happen, you can actually read the fan speed via Xgauges.

The ICE can spin in Park. If your SOC is low, HV ECU can command ECM to start ICE to charge HV Battery by MG1. This can happen automatically even if you don't step on the gas pedal. The parking motor only hold the Ring gear (MG2), both the Sun gear(MG1) and the Carrier (ICE) are free to spin. The pseudo(?) clutch does not disengage, it is there to absorb shocks.

There is no current to MG2 in Park or Neutral. Other than these 2 modes, all other modes; D,R & B will have current. Force charging in D can heat up MG2 pretty fast. If you don't monitor MG2 temp. closely, the transaxle may be damaged.
