Hey all. My radio was working fine when I parked my car a week ago at the airport. When I came back and started driving home, I’ve found it totally lifeless.

Power button doesnt do anything, the steering wheel buttons do nothing. I can’t eject cds or the casette. Clicking the audio button on info system just shows “audio off”

All the lights on the radio are off too, as in there’s not backlight on at night.

    Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

    Fuse?
    would be my first guess.
After that maybe have to pull out to check harness or something

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. Not sure why it would “pop” while sitting for a week but I’ll look at which fuse it is an report back.

Might be from corrosion or perhaps some water that got in the wiring.
Im not sure if you had any evidence of mice or squirrels under that hood.

That would make sense, there was a nest in the cabin filter and walnuts all over the engine bay. Car was from auction.

Take the hatch apart and look n there closely especially under the spare tire for mouse signs,
Get a flashlight and look inside the hole the 12 bolt battery is sitting in and see if it’s full of water very common for g2 s to have a hatch leak.

Check under the hood in engine air filter box for a mouse days Inn.

@edthefox5 I have a thread showing my findings after picking the car up from auction. Plenty of mice signs both in the cabin filter and blower motor, as well as the engine air intake. However it randomly stopped working after sitting a week, and I cleaned the car right after getting it and had no radio issues. When I got the car there were no animals in it also, so I imagine they are long gone.

Update: radio came to life at random, still have not checked 12v battery’s power levels, but we know fuses are good.
