congrats on the new addition!!. my son born in 1996 was a 36 hour labor and C-section as well. am expecting another son Mar 24th. we are determined to go natural so wish us luck. so happy to hear baby is happy and healthy.

I know, the contest never even came to a finale I guess?? I think Jack forgot about me. I was out for a walk in the park one day and had been fancying the name Dylan for quite some time. All of a sudden the name Tyler came to me and I texted hubby and asked what he thought and he loved it! I had a list of Hawaiian names for the middle name, and we decided on Kekoa (brave, courageous) in the hospital. Hubby's middle name is Kumukoa so we both liked how similar Kekoa is to Kumukoa and how it it flowed with the first/last names.

LOL, I like your way of thinking! The 30 hours wasn't all that bad, just tiring and I was hungry b/c they wouldn't let me eat a thing except for a sandwich during all that time. I had an epidural for 9 hours of it (and obviously for the c/s) when it got really painful. Yeah, we were thrilled to hear he'd regained his weight as he was down to 7lbs2oz in the days following his birth (down about 6oz?) so it's good to know he's eating well. A Prius diaper bag would be fantastic!!

Thank you! Best of luck on your upcoming arrival! I was determined to go natural as well, but unfortunately things didn't go as planned but it all worked out for the best in the end! During the c/s delivery it was discovered that the cord was wrapped around his neck twice, preventing him from moving lower towards the exit, explaining why I hadn't made any progress with him in 4-5 hours time after I'd reached the halfway point (5cm dilated) even with the Pitocin on max.

Thanks! I've only been over to the Makaha area once, when we were visiting Oahu in Sept 05. My inlaws live over in Mokuleia so we spent the majority of our time on the north shore...I'm dying to go back, and possibly go to Maui as it's the only island I haven't visited as of yet.
