Random locking and unlocking please help

    Hi so my 2008 Prius is randomly locking itself and unlocking itself while it's off and while it's off and a door open it beeps as if you tried to lock the doors while a door was open ive tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then reconnecting but that did not work can someone please help me out here

    could there be a fob hiding in there somewhere?
    also, have you checked the 12v health?

    Sounds like you may have a lock button stuck in the "on" position on one of your remotes. You can search the Gen II forums for: stuck button on remote FOB for further info on how to go about fixing.

    It continues beeping while both fobs are out of range

    As mentioned, check the 12 V battery in the car.
    This also could be caused by one of the manual lock buttons on the doors stuck in a middle position.......as in, a failing door lock actuator.

    Sit inside the car and use the FOB to lock and unlock a few times.....while watching and listening for the manual buttons to move.

    I had a jeep several years back that started randomly locking and unlocking for no apparent reason. Even had it towed to the dealer because I assumed it meant there were serious electrical problems. It turned out to be just the battery.

    I'd replace your 12V battery and see if that fixes it.
