I'm experiencing a rattle in the center dash during cold starts - cold being in the low 50s.

    Pretty annoying.

No issue in the afternoon or on sunny mornings.

Ideas where this is coming from?

    I'd kill for 50 degrees.

Not sure if same or not, but I had a rattle in my PRIME premium coming from the center dash, but it was not related to temperature or ICE coming on. It was low ticking type noise when car is in motion at any speed, but it came and went on its own. AC on or off did not make any difference. Took the car to a dealer, and they found instrumental module touching nearby plastid part causing the noise. They did not replace anything, but placed some foam material in between. Problem solved. It was taken care of under warranty.

Thanks - Toyota techs are not very helpful.

It's very different from my previous experience as a bmw owner.

Is your car still under warranty? If it is, it maybe worth the visit to a dealer. Taking off the dash was not something I would be able to DIY easily, so I took advantage of the warranty while I could.
