According to this article, Toyota's new and improved RAV4 EV will be assembled in Woodstock, Ontario. Since the gasoline version is already made there, the location should come as no surprise. Apparently there will be an official announcement tomorrow.

Isn't it ironic? Canada is #1 from the foreign countries that we import oil from. We'll soon be importing an EV from Canada too.

I think it's a great thing. I just hope we get the Rav4 EV in RHD over here in the UK.

Excellent! Order it then wait merely weeks to pick it up. No waiting 5 months for the ship to arrive.

The EV portion will be made in the US. Tesla will be building the EV drivetrains in Palo Alto, and shipping them to Ontario. Very few vehicles are wholly made within any one country -parts and components come from all over the world.
You can sit on the right if you prefer, but being made in Canada, it's only going to turn left. If it were built in the US, it would only turn right.

1st Toyota with an inductive motor and not a permanent magnet motor. 2012 release huh?

I wonder the Rav4 EV will be able to tow or have an AWD option?

How does that compare to the RX (I don't say Corolla or Matrix since there's usually a huge stock of them at US dealerships).

Here in Canada, a custom ordered Prius takes 5 weeks to arrive on the west coast then add the number of days on top of that depending on where it's shipped (west coast is usually a few days, whenever the truck heads out with a full load from the ship yard. For Toronto, I think it's another 3 weeks)

    :p

Couldnt have said it any better! Canada is also our next door neighbor as well, so we would definitely be saving on the freight and other taxes that we would have spent from other countries importing. Sounds good to me!
