Suits me just fine. I push a pedal that pulls a steel cable that holds the car in place. Can't beat that with a stick.

I love that he doesn't waste time. He speaks quickly enough, and is always addressing something, to be able to cover the components within a reasonable video. Thank you!

Could be interesting, will take a look after making pancake breakfast. Seems a little like Project Farm: talks SO fast you can't keep up? I am completely distracted though, by the tattered cheapo plastic glove and toothbrush. Do future mechanics exit the womb wearing such gloves??

    Yeah lots of info.

Astoundingly fast rust bloom evident, for a brand-new vehicle.

He likes that it has a spare; but yeah, that's only on the base model?

The guy is located in Canada where they obviously use a lot of road salt,

Having taken off the taillights of my 2019, I can attest that the Gen4 Prius seems to have plenty of places for leaves to catch and stay to promote rust. I've seen the same under the hood.

Yep, while salt isn't too bad here in Colorado, we do have chemicals put on the roads quite a lot when it snows. I've been looking for an under vehicle sprayer that attaches to a garden hose to rinse underneath but, in the meantime, I have a local car wash that has the option of doing an undercarriage spray and I use that often in the winter.

I'm sure that it isn't done in Colorado anymore, but would bet some Northeasterners still do this:

Clean the underside of a vehicle really well, then take a paint brush (maybe a sprayer would work, but don't know with the viscosity), and paint all the important parts with used motor oil from the oil change one just did just before winter starts.

Absolutely terrible for the environment, but that's what some folks did in the 1970's and 1980's. I'm positive it was a thing before then, but I wasn't alive to witness it back then.

I used foam brushes to coat problem zones with boiled linseed oil. It dries virtually tack-free, and lasts pretty good. Just hitting everything with a sprayer may seem a good approach, but with all the plastic panels, various obstructions, I think you're better off to raise the car, remove the wheels, take off any plastic panels in the way, and apply the rust-proofing one component at a time. Also good to back out any of the small bolts/screws, soak them with a light oil.

Boiled linseed oil - I love that idea! I used it on a rifle stock. Really natural, nice smelling product.

NOTE TO EVERYONE though: BLO can cause spontaneous fires if left on rags or paint brushes. Once you're done with it, seal the container, and seriously consider where you will be disposing of (not trying to store or keep) the application tools.

Yeah it's traditionally for wood, ax handles and the like, but it's worked real well for me, sealing rusty steel, makes it impervious. @tvpierce suggested it to me here, some time back.

Appreciate the caution; I have read that.

Instead of boiled linseed oil, I use petroleum oil based rustproofing like this.

    For Mendel:
    Transtar 4423 Amber Rustproofing

I has rodent repelling qualities, too. They hate the smell and the taste.

Polyurethane clear coat works well too, cheaper and lasts longer than BLO.
